A distraught Minnesota mother posted a plea on Facebook after all the girls invited to her daughter's 10th birthday said they would not attend. The young girl, Mackenzie Moretter, has a developmental disorder called Sotos syndrome, which causes children to grow at a faster rate but often delays social and intellectual skills. Jenny Moretter, her mother, was sad no one was coming to her daughter's birthday and asked friends on Facebook to bring girls close to Mackenzie's age, even if only for a quick visit. At least 500 people showed up to the party at a park, according to a GoFundMe page. The mayor of the town proclaimed Staurday "Mackenzie Moretter Day," and volunteers showed up to provide musict and donated food.
