File - The Waukesha, Wis., created a big "thank you" card to show her gratitude for the support she's received from people from numerous countries and from most continents.

Wisconsin governor Governor Scott Walker declared August 13 "Purple Hearts for Healing Day" recovering from the May 31 "Slender Man" attack, saying "her strength and determination are an inspiration," NBC News reported. The family of the girl thanked Walker and said in a statement that compassion from people around the world "has greatly assisted our family in this healing process." The girl was stabbed 19 times, allegedly by two 12-year-old friends who thought they were paying homage to a fictional character called "Slender Man."
