Two Hurt in Shooting at Tenn. Armory, Shooter in Custody

Two people were shot Thursday afternoon at a National Guard Armory near Memphis, Tenn., and a suspect is in custody, the U.S. Navy confirmed. The shooting took place when an argument between three Army National Guardsmen escalated into gunfire, with one of them shooting the other two with a handgun - one in the leg and the other in the foot - authorities said at a news conference Thursday. The victims' injuries were not life-threatening, and the suspected shooter was in custody, according to the Navy, which owns the property where the armory is located. The shooting took place at the armory, not at Millington Naval Base, despite initial reports that it had taken place there. The base was locked as a precaution following the shooting, but the lockdown was later lifted.
