ZooLights Celebrates 25th Anniversary at Lincoln Park Zoo

The holiday tradition returns to Chicago Nov. 29

A Chicago holiday tradition returns for its 25th anniversary as Lincoln ParkZoo's ZooLights returns later this month, with hundreds of luminous displays for visitors to enjoy.

Nearly 3 million lights will flicker above Lincoln Park Zoo when the showcase opens on Nov. 29. The installation will remain open until Jan. 5 as this holiday tradition celebrates its silver anniversary.

Besides the lights, visitors can see animals, have a visit with Santa Claus and enjoy some hot chocolate, warmed spice wine and other festive specials.

The zoo also offers ticketed experiences such as cookie decoration and a Ferris wheel. On weekends, visitors can even watch live ice-sculpting demonstrations.

ZooLights will also be offering Family Nights Dec. 16, 26 and 30. Kids eat for free at Park Place Cafe, and all guests enjoy free rides on the Lionel Train Adventure and AT&T Endangered Species Carousel.

There will also be carolers singing holiday tunes throughout Lincoln Park Zoo.

For tickets and more information, visitors are encouraged to check out the zoo's website.
