Long-Term Street Closures to Take Effect as 2nd Phase of Wrigley Field Construction Begins

Several long-term street closures will take effect on Monday in the Lakeview neighborhood as the second phase of construction at Wrigley Field begins.

The following streets will be closed from Nov. 2 through April 10, 2016:

  • West Waveland from North Clark Street to North Seminary
  • South section of the alley east of Clifton all the way north to Waveland
  • North curb lane of Addison from Sheffield to Clark

According to Ald. Tom Tunney, a section of Clifton near Waveland will also be closed for five weeks beginning Nov. 2 while a manhole at the intersection is enlarged. Vehicles on Clifton traveling southbound will not be able to access Waveland during this time. Parking on the east side of Clifton will be removed to accommodate two-way traffic.

During the five weeks of work at Clifton and Waveland, Clark will be reduced to one lane of northbound traffic only. Southbound traffic will be diverted north of Waveland. Clark will remain two-way south of Patterson.

Vehicles traveling southbound that need to access Clark south of Waveland will be diverted east on Irving Park to Southport, south on Southport to Addison and then east on Addison to Clark.
