A northwest suburban woman with a valid FOID card has been charged with buying guns and selling them on the street for profit.
Simone Mousheh, 22, was charged with two counts of illegal transfer of firearms, and two counts of selling a firearm to someone without a valid FOID, all felonies, according to Chicago Police.
Mousheh bought a Glock pistol and reported it stolen, police said. It was later recovered from a juvenile in the 10th District. Mousheh called a Firearms Investigation Team sergeant and asked how to get her stolen gun back.
The team investigated and found that Mousheh had bought four Glocks in the last six months, police said. Each cost about $600.
She also made a $1,000 cash deposit on a firearm designed for the military that is capable of firing a round that can pierce a bulletproof vest, though she works in a chocolate factory with no additional source of income, according to police.
During an interview, Mousheh said she gave one of the Glocks to a man she met on Facebook nine days after she purchased it, police said. It was the second weapon she sold to the Hoffman Estates man, who admitted to having ties to Chicago gangs.
Mousheh admitted she checked the man’s probation status on the Cook County website, and knew he did not possess an FOID card and was on probation for domestic battery, according to police.

The officers recovered the sold gun, as well as another gun and ammunition that Mousheh kept at her home, police said. One of the weapons remains unaccounted for.
Police said Mousheh has no criminal arrests and no ties to gangs, felons or violence. However, investigators say she is not an uncommon example of a woman with a valid FOID card who illegally sells guns for profit.
She was scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday.
