Windows of West Suburban Chiropractic Office Shot with BB Gun

The chiropractor said similar shootings have happened at the office 10 to 15 times in the last year

Authorities are asking for assistance in finding the suspect or suspects who shot the windows of an office building in west suburban Naperville with a BB gun over the weekend.

Just after midnight on Saturday, July 30, someone in a vehicle drove slowly past Whitney Chiropractic in the 2700 block of Forgue Drive and fired approximately four shots at the windows before fleeing the scene northbound at a high rate of speed, according to a statement from Naperville Crime Stoppers.

The damage appears to be from a BB gun or similar projectile, according to crime stoppers.

The windows of the office have been damaged on several occasions, according to the building's occupant, Dr. Richard Whitney.

"We've had probably between 10 and 15 different events of this," Whitney said. "I’m afraid to put new windows in because we’re gonna end up having to replace them again."

Crime stoppers confirmed the windows have been hit multiple times, but did not give a specific number of incidents. Whitney said 10 of his windows have been damaged by about 25 shots in total, costing him approximately $8,000.

Whitney said he has installed security cameras, which captured footage of the offender's car on Saturday.

"It’s been a year now, you know, it’s a professional building. I have patients in here everyday," Whitney added. "I have to explain why it’s being done and I don’t know. It’s frustrating and I think it’s time to have it stop."

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information should call (630) 420-6006 or go to www.napervillecrimestoppers.com.
