High School Homecoming Court Eliminated, Inclusiveness Encouraged

A Green Bay high school is eliminating a homecoming tradition in an effort to be more inclusive of all students.

West High School Principal Mark Flaten says the student council approved abolishing a homecoming court this fall. Flaten says every student can wear the homecoming king's crown and queen's tiara and "everybody can be king and queen for the night."

Senior Tevin Hill tells a local TV station that getting a spot on homecoming court shows school involvement and can be used on a college application or resume.

The Wildcats' homecoming and dance is scheduled this weekend.
