Chicago police are searching for a group of men responsible for a violent robbery in the city’s West Town neighborhood that was caught on video.
During the robbery, two men are seen rushing up to a person walking on a sidewalk, hitting him in the head, and then robbing him.
Home security footage shows the thieves taking the 40-year-old man’s wallet and then sprinting away after the victim threw a coffee cup at them.
The duo then got into a car, where a third suspect was waiting to drive them away.
The robbery took place at about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in the 500 block of North Wood.
“It’s surprising that it happened in the middle of the day,” neighbour Katherine Busher said. “That’s a little alarming.”
The victim was not seriously hurt but was extremely shaken by the incident.
