Toby Willis, the father of the The Willis Clan, a well-known musical group that has appeared on shows like “America’s Got Talent,” has been charged with child rape.
Wills, 46, was charged and arrested in Greenville, Kentucky without bond. The investigation began last month and stems from an incident more than ten years ago.
“He had a sexual encounter approximately 12 years ago with an underage female,” according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Six Willis’ brothers and sisters died in a fiery crash in 1994 on a Wisconsin highway that symbolized the downfall of former Gov. George Ryan amid a bribery for truck-driving licenses scandal.
Authorities believe Willis attempted to avoid arrest by hitchhiking through Kentucky and are asking the drivers to come forward.
