Three people have been charged Tuesday in connection with the weekend shooting death of a woman outside a Chicago Heights sub shop.

Jeffrey Bell, 21, of the 600 block of Brookline Street in Chicago Heights and Camille Brodanex, 20, of the 3000 block of South Commercial Avenue of South Chicago Heights have each been charged with first-degree murder, authorities said.

Barbara Jackson, 21, of the 400 block of Natoma Street in Park Forest was charged with aiding a fugitive.

Marquita Campbell was shot and stabbed in the parking lot of the Big Boy restaurant, at 405 W. 14th St., early Sunday.

Police said the incident stemmed from a dance Bell shared with Campbell at Knockouts, a nearby sports bar.  Bell is Brodanex's boyfriend, said Chicago Heights police Sgt. Tom Rogers.

The girlfriend began to argue with Campbell and the two women started fighting, Campbell's mother, Joann Campbell told the Southtown Star.

She said her daughter left the bar and was followed by the Bell and Brodanex to the sandwich shop where they attacked her with a gun and knife in the parking lot.

“I want an open-and-shut case. I want justice,” Joann Campbell said. “They came like a thief in the night for her.”

Campbell’s body was lying on the ground, bleeding from the head, when police arrived at the scene.  Her boyfriend, as well as a bystander, also were shot, police said. They said her boyfriend was treated for a gunshot wound in the thigh at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, and the other man was shot in the forearm but refused medical attention.

The three people charged in the case are expected in bond court Wednesday morning.
