Suspect Arrested in Armed Robbery of 3 Women in South Loop

Chicago police have arrested a man accused of robbing three women at gunpoint in Chicago’s South Loop on Sunday night.

The man, identified as 35-year-old Torrence Perry, was taken into custody on Monday after he was observed entering a building with property that allegedly belonged to the victims in the case.

Police allege that Perry wore a mask and robbed the three women at gunpoint in the 800 block of South Wabash at approximately 8:30 p.m. Sunday night. The women were walking on the street when they were confronted by a masked assailant, who demanded their belongings.

A father became a victim of gun violence on Friday afternoon on Chicago’s South Side while heading out of town to his 6-year-old son’s birthday party. NBC 5’s Christian Farr reports.

The women dropped personal items onto the ground and the suspect picked them up before fleeing the scene.

Perry has been charged with two felony counts of robbery with a firearm and one felony count of attempted robbery with a firearm. He will appear in bond court on Tuesday.
