Streamwood Warehouse Has Roof Peeled Back by Strong Storms

Storms have damaged several structures in Streamwood, including a commercial building in the 500 block of Bartlett Road.

According to the Streamwood Fire Department, the building experienced extensive water damage when strong winds peeled the roof back on the structure. The roof also suffered damage to air conditioning units, as they were displaced on top of the structure.

Numerous calls for service have been reported in the Streamwood area, with tree branches down on power lines throughout the area.

The Fire Department also said that a home on Rosewood Drive was hit by lightning, which resulted in damage to its chimney.

Powerful storms are expected to hit the Chicago-area through the rest of the night, as the area is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until midnight.
