Two Stevenson High Students Arrested in Drug Probe

Separately, other students at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in north suburban Lincolnshire have been suspended, official says

Two Adlai E. Stevenson High School students have been arrested and accused with dealing marijuana on campus following a two-month investigation that included students' cell phones being confiscated.

The teens -- a 15-year-old from Buffalo Grove and a 16-year-old from Lincolnshire -- haven't yet been officially charged, but police are asking the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office for charges of unlawful delivery of cannabis and conspiracy of unlawful deliver of cannabis, both misdemeanors, according to details of a police report released Wednesday.

Police said the boys were found with less than 10 grams of marijuana.

"At this time, police do not anticipate any further arrests from this investigation," the report said.

Separately, other students have been suspended, but the school's public information coordinator, Jim Conrey, declined to offer specifics, according to the Daily Herald.

Conrey last week said administrators and law enforcement received "credible evidence" of the drug activity in late-December and subsequently confiscated student cell phones to carry out the investigation and identify suspects.
