The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory for this afternoon that could affect the evening commute.

Light freezing rain will begin around 3 p.m. and continue through the night.

“Travel on untreated surfaces will become hazardous by this evening and will persist through the night,” the advisory warns. “Be alert for icy surfaces when driving or walking.

Temps won’t rise above the freezing mark.

While the freezing rain will be a minor inconvenience for drivers, it won’t be anything like the Snowmageddon that descended on Chicago last week.
