Two men were killed and two others wounded in a Back of the Yards neighborhood shooting Friday night on the South Side.

Four people were shot at shortly after 4:30 p.m. in the 5100 block of South May Street, police spokesman Daniel O’Brien said, citing preliminary information.

Paramedics took three men to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where two were pronounced dead, fire department spokesman Larry Langford said. The third man was in critical condition.

Police said family or bystanders took the fourth person to an area hospital, but that person’s condition was not immediately known.

The deceased were reportedly in their 20s, officials said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
