The Chicago area could see some showers and thunderstroms on Saturday afternoon, and some of the storms could potentially be severe as hot weather and high humidity remain in the forecast.
Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued for several northern Illinois counties, including McHenry, Lake, DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, and Cook, but all were allowed to expire, according to the National Weather Service.
Just before 5 p.m., the Pitchfork Music Festival in Union Park has been evacuated due to "dangerous conditions," according to a social media post.
"Please calmly and quickly leave the festival grounds and find shelter," festival organizers said in a social media post.
The National Weather Service has also issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of northeastern Illinois, including Lake, Kane, DuPage, and Cook counties.
That watch will remain in effect until 9 p.m., according to the weather service.
DeKalb and McHenry counties have been removed from the watch area as of 5:20 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible in the early afternoon hours across the area, and some could potentially reach severe status, with gusty winds, heavy downpours, and some hail possible if that development occurs.
Heat indices will remain high, ranging from 100 to 110 degrees, but temperatures are expected to fall Sunday after several days of scorching heat.
