UPDATE: $750K Bail Set For Schaumburg Cops Accused Of Stealing From Drug Dealers

Three Schaumburg police detectives were arrested in DuPage County on Wednesday, officials confirmed.

A report in the Chicago Sun-Times, citing anonymous sources, says the cops were accused of stealing cash and illegal drugs from dealers.

The arrests followed a joint investigation by the federal Drug Enforcement Agency and DuPage County authorities.

Schaumburg police said in a statement the officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the state’s attorney’s office’s investigation. The village has also begun its own investigation.

The identities of the officers weren't publicly released Wednesday night, but they are expected to be prosecuted in DuPage County.

Police said they are cooperating with the state’s attorney’s office. A spokesman for State’s Attorney Robert Berlin declined to comment.
