Third Man Charged in Death of Girl Killed While Washing Dog

Ronald Henderson charged with first-degree murder

A third man has been charged in the June death of a little girl who was killed while washing the family dog with her father outside her grandmother's home.

Ronald Henderson, 29, of the 7900 block of South Carpenter Street was arrested Friday and charged with first degree murder, according to Chicago News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.

He's a known member of the Gangster Disciples street gang, police said.  Cook County Judge Ramon Ocasio III ordered Henderson held without bail during a Saturday hearing, according to a court spokesman. He is due back in court Monday for a preliminary hearing, the spokesman said.

Chastity Turner, 9, was with her father in the 7400 block of South Stewart Avenue, when a van pulled up and someone began shooting. She was hit by a bullet in the neck. Her 31-year-old father, Andre Turner, and two of his friends were also shot.

Two teens -- one of them a felon -- were charged with her death days later.
