A pregnant woman was killed and a man was critically wounded in a shooting on Chicago's South Side Sunday evening, according to police.
Around 6:10 p.m., the 19-year-old woman and the 26-year-old man were sitting in a parked car in the 8700 block of South Marquette in the South Chicago neighborhood, according to police.
Another vehicle pulled alongside them, authorities said, and a man with dreadlocks fired multiple shots before fleeing.
The woman was shot in the neck, and the man sustained gunshot wounds to the neck and chest, police said.
Both were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead and he was listed in critical condition.
Family members identified the woman as Parasha Beard, and confirmed that she was six months pregnant. The baby was delivered and was in critical condition at Comer Children's Hospital, according to Beard's mother Crystal Jones.
Beard also had a four-year-old daughter and lived in the area where she was shot, family members said, adding that she worked at Portillo's in suburban Skokie and attended school at the Chicago Excel Academy of Southwest.

No one is in custody for the shooting and authorities continue to investigate.
