Over 1.5 Tons of Pot Seized Near O'Hare

A massive amount of marijuana with an estimated value of over $9.3 million was seized last week by Illinois State Police.

The 3,450 pounds of pot was discovered among a load of citrus fruit in a semi-trailer and a warehouse in Franklin Park after an ongoing investigation with the department's Narcotics Interdiction Unit.

Four people were arrested and charged with narcotics trafficking, a Class X felony:  Jose Luis Jiminez, 45, of Chicago; Jose Garcia-Cavazos, 28, of Mission, Texas; Raquel Sanchez, 31 of Mission, Texas; and Albertico Rasaldo DeJesus, 31, of Veracruz, Mexico.

They are currently being held in the Cook County Jail.
