Authorities Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting on Chicago's West Side

Authorities are investigating after officers shot an alleged robbery suspect on Chicago's West Side Sunday night, according to police. 

The incident occurred in the 1000 block of North Cicero Avenue in the city's West Humboldt Park neighborhood, Chicago Police spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi tweeted at 9:45 p.m. 

Officers received a call for an armed robbery, Guglielmi said. Officers already in the area saw a gas station being robbed, according to police. 

An officer opened fire, striking the alleged offender in the leg, officials said. The suspect was taken in serious but stable condition to Stroger Hospital, according to police.

No officers were injured, Guglielmi said.

Further details on the incident were not immediately available, and the investigation is ongoing.
