Day Campers Show Patriotic Pride

They are not even in double digits, but some pint sized patriots are already making America proud.

Day Campers at the Latin School were decked out in their red, white, and blue for their annual 4th of July Parade on Friday.  There were even a few Statues of Liberty among the crowd.

But the event isn't just about playing dress up. These campers know the history of the holiday too.

They spouted off the 13 original colonies, the meaning behind the flag, and some even knew a few of the Founding Fathers.

Independence Day may not be until Sunday, but these kids already have their weekend all mapped out.  Several 4-year-olds are going to grandmas and otheres said they'll take a dip in the lake.  Still another had simpler plans:  "eat candy."

The kids seemed pretty excited for the fireworks, but a front row seat at their parade isn't a bad way to start the holiday weekend.
