Middle School Teacher Accused of Distributing Child Porn

    A suburban Chicago middle school teacher was placed on administrative leave on Monday after being charged with possessing and distributing child pornography.

    Jerome B. McCauley, of Sycamore, was arrested after police searched his home on the 300 block of Grant Street. The 45-year-old teaches at Wredling Middle School in the western suburb of St. Charles.

    McCauley was being held in the DeKalb County Jail on a $1 million bond. He was charged with five counts of possession and five counts of distribution of child pornography.

    School officials said they do not believe current or former Wredling students were involved.

    It was not clear if McCauley had a lawyer. No phone listing could be found for McCauley and he could not be reached for comment.
