Marquette University Student Shot, Two Robbed Near Milwaukee Campus

Police say one person is in custody. A second remained at large as of 7 a.m.

    A Marquette University student was shot in the hand and two others were robbed near the downtown Milwaukee campus early Friday.

    Authorities said the robberies happened outside a parking structure about 2:30 a.m. The first two students handed over their valuables to a robber.

    A second man tried to rob a third student who struggled with the suspect and was shot. Police arrived and arrested the suspect. The other robber was still at large as of 7 a.m. He was described in an alert to the campus as a black man wearing a black Blackhawks hat and a black jacket.

    The university said classes will be held as scheduled Friday.
