Marijuana has estimated street value of more than $2.5 million, police said

Two men face felony drug charges after police said they found them with more than 800 pounds of marijuana on Chicago's southwest side.

Arnulfo Saldana, 49, of the 4000 block of West 81st Street, and Hugo Sanchez, 38, of Toppenish, Wash., were arrested Thursday after police were tipped off about possible narcotics activity in the 5800 block of South Pulaski Road, according to police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.

Sanchez was found with a "large quantity" of cannabis and $57,000 in cash, police said.

After gathering more information, a search warrant was obtained and Saldana's residence, in the area of 81st Street and Pulaski Road, was searched.  There, officers said they found more than 800 pounds of marijuana.

The estimated street value of narcotics seized was more the $2,500,000, police said in a news release.  Narcotics-related funds totaling over $60,000 were also recovered, they said.
