High Winds Loosen High-Rise Window

High winds loosened a high-rise window from its seal at 230 W. Monroe St. about 2:15 p.m., police said.

The warnings were clear that Chicago's big blizzard was potentially dangerous:  snow, wind, ice... dangling glass.

High winds loosened a high-rise window from its seal at 230 W. Monroe St. about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, police said. The window dangled for a time and crews feared it would fall onto the street below.

The street below the window was closed to traffic as crews worked to repair the window.

It was not immediately clear how many blocks of Franklin Street have been shut down.
