A Waukegan man pleaded guilty Thursday to attacking a woman on the Des Plaines River Trail near Libertyville last summer.
Denilson Martinez-Rodriguez faces up to seven years in prison in connection with the June 15 attack on the on the North Shore Bike Path along Route 176.
Prosecutors said Martinez-Rodriguez ambushed the jogger while she ran on the trail. The 22-year-old was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse and one count each of aggravated battery, sexual abuse and unlawful restraint, Lake County Forest Preserve Police said.
Surveillance videos from businesses near the scene captured pictures of the suspect and his vehicle, authorities said.
