Cause of fire that killed Steve Besheskas still under investigation

One person was killed and another critically injured in a fire in a Lake View apartment at 540 W. Wellington Ave. on Friday.

A 63-year-old man was killed and another resident of a Lakeview apartment building was injured in a fire Friday evening.
Steve Besheskas, 63, was taken from his unit in a four-story apartment building at 540 W. Wellington Ave. during the fire.
He was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center at 6 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Another person was taken to Illinois Masonic in fair to serious condition, fire officials said.
The fire was contained to one apartment and the cause is under investigation.
