The Chicago Bulls will finally get to see Kris Dunn hit the court on Saturday night, as the guard will make his regular season debut when the team takes on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Dunn, whom the Bulls acquired in the trade that sent Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves, has been out of the lineup with a dislocated finger that he suffered during the preseason. He will come off the bench during Saturday’s game, according to head coach Fred Hoiberg, and will not have any minutes restrictions, the coach said.
Dunn was the fifth overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, and he averaged 3.8 points and 2.4 assists per game last season for the Timberwolves. He primarily came off the bench for the team, starting just seven of the 78 games in which he appeared.
He is the second player acquired in the Butler trade to make his Bulls debut, as seventh-overall pick Lauri Markkanen has gotten off to a strong start with the team. Markkanen’s rights were traded to the Bulls as part of the Butler swap, along with Zach LaVine, who has yet to make his debut as he recovers from a knee injury.
The Bulls will be looking for their second straight win when they take on the Thunder at the United Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
