A 28-year-old man found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot to the head died Wednesday morning of his injuries, officials said.
Juan Eguez died at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was taken after being found inside a single-story home on the 2800 block of South Kildare Avenue.
Authorites suspect Eguez shot and killed his estranged wife, Kelly Coca, and their 5-year-old daughter, Karla Eguez, before turning the gun on himself.
Neighbors on Tuesday reported hearing arguing coming from the home shortly before hearing gunshots, a law enforcement source said.
Coca and her daughter had just returned to their home on Kildare after a trip to Miami, where Juan Eguez lives, a source told NBC Chicago.
