Jorge Soler Posts Touching Goodbye to Cubs Fans After Trade

Outfielder Jorge Soler was one of the first pieces added to the mix when the Chicago Cubs began their quest to rebuild their organization, but his time with the team has come to an end as he was traded on Wednesday afternoon.

Soler, who signed with the Cubs out of Cuba in 2012, quickly made a name for himself in Chicago with his prodigious power and his infectious enthusiasm for the game, and he endeared himself to fans because of his vibrant personality.

After it was announced that he had been traded, Soler took to Twitter to thank both the fans and the Cubs for making his time in Chicago memorable. [[405291385, C]]

"Thank you Cubs, the amazing fans, the city of Chicago & my teammates," the outfield wrote. "World Series Champs baby! So many memories I'll cherish forever."

Soler was traded to the Kansas City Royals in exchange for closer Wade Davis on Wednesday. Soler is going to play some right field and will serve extensively as a designated hitter for the Royals, according to G.M. Dayton Moore.
