People are lining the streets of a southern Illinois town to pay respects to a soldier killed in Afghanistan.
Pfc. Tyler R. Iubelt, of Tamaroa, died from injuries inflicted by an improvised explosive device at Bagram Airfield on Nov. 12.
The Southern Illinoisan reports about 50 members of the Patriot Guard formed a flag line as Iubelt's casket was carried into the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin on Wednesday.
Darla Hunter and her granddaughter are among the supporters who lined the streets to say good-bye. She calls the 20-year-old husband and father a "superhero, because he died for us."
Gov. Bruce Rauner and U.S. Rep. Mike Bost are attending the services.
Thirty-year-old Sgt. John W. Perry of Stockton, California, and two American contractors also died in the explosion.
