Skull Found in Cal-Sag Channel

A human skull was found in the Cal Sag Channel on the Far South Side on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

The human remains were found about 1 p.m. in the 13200 block of South Indiana Avenue, according to the police Marine Patrol Unit.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office has been notified about the skull.

Area South detectives are also investigating.

Earlier in the day, skeletal remains were found by a utility worker in the Calumet Heights neighborhood, the Chicago Tribune reported.
