"A number of very dangerous weapons are off the street," said Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

No one is in custody, but a number of weapons are off the street following a Tuesday raid which turned up more than two dozen weapons in a Northwest Side home.

The cache was found when the Harrison Area Project Safe Neighborhood Gun Task Force, acting on a tip, executed a search warrant on the brick bungalow on the 5600 block of North Sacramento Avenue.

The home is just east of Legion Park, which surrounds the Chicago River’s north branch from West Foster to West Peterson.
Nobody was home when the warrant was executed, but officers did recover 26 weapons, including assault rifles, shotguns, rifles and handguns in the residence.

"A number of very dangerous weapons are off the street," said Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
