Teen Critical After Hit-and-Run

17-year-old was using crosswalk when she was hit, police spokesperson said

A 17-year-old girl was in critical condition Wednesday morning after being hit by a truck in the city's Logan Square neighborhood.

The teen was using a crosswalk on the 3700 block of West Fullerton Avenue, near North Lawndale Avenue, when she was hit by a black pickup truck, a police spokesperson said.

The driver of the truck did not stop and headed southbound on Lawndale.

The girl was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition.

In a separate incident about 90 minutes earlier, a man in his 30s was struck by a red car while using a crosswalk on the 5100 block of West Fullerton Avenue, in the city's Belmont Cragin neighorhood, officials said.

He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and listed in serious condition. 

Charges were pending early Wednesday against the 18-year-old driver of the red car who later turned himself in, officials said.
