Authorities are investigating after a 9-year-old girl drowned in a swimming pool at a hotel in south suburban Alsip on Saturday.
Around 5:53 p.m., the girl was found unresponsive in the pool area at the Double Tree hotel located at 5000 W. 127th Street, according to a release from the Alsip Police Department.
She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she later died, according to police.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office identified her as Adriana Douglas, of Highland Park, Michigan. Douglas was in the area for a cheerleading competition, officials said.
No foul play is suspected, according to Alsip Police, who continue to investigate.
