Frost Advisory Issued for Parts of NE Illinois, NW Indiana

As temperatures once again flirt with the freezing mark in the overnight hours, a Frost Advisory will go into affect for numerous counties in northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory will go into effect at 1 a.m. Central time on Friday morning and will remain in effect until 8 a.m.

Kankakee County in Illinois will be under the advisory, along with Newton and Jasper counties in Indiana.

Lake and Porter counties in Indiana will also be impacted by the advisory, which comes as forecasted low temperatures could plunge into the low-to-mid 30s.

A Frost Advisory means that frost could develop in grassy area and those with plants, and could kill that vegetation if protective measures aren’t taken. Sensitive outdoor plants could be killed if they’re left uncovered, according to the advisory.
