Police say they found three tons of pot -- worth more than $27 million -- in a moving truck in west suburban Franklin Park Friday morning.

The truck was abandoned in Stone Park in the 3900 block of Mannheim Road about 11 a.m., a statement from the Will County Cooperative Police Assistance Team said.

Inside, officials said they found the marijuana, a handgun and ammo.

Anyone with information is asked to call 815-726-6377.

WCPAT is made of personnel from the FBI, Illinois State Police and the Joliet, Plainfield and Romeoville police departments.

A little more than a week ago, officials from the Drug Enforcement Agency said they found more than $8 million worth of pot in two stash houses in Chicago.
