Foo Fighters Add Second Wrigley Field Show in 2018

The Foo Fighters’ show at Wrigley Field next summer sold out instantly, but we have good news for fans of the band.

According to a press release, the band will play a second show at the Friendly Confines, with the announced date on July 30. The shows will be part of their Concrete and Gold Tour, which will take them around the country in support of their ninth studio album.

Tickets for the new show will go on sale to the public on Sat., Nov. 18 at 10 a.m., the band said in a press release. Presale tickets will be available on Nov. 11 at 10 a.m., with more information available on the band’s website.

Tickets to the July 29 show sold out virtually instantly on Friday morning, with many fans shut out from buying seats to the massive concert.

The Cubs have recently ratcheted up the number of concerts at the iconic venue over the years, including a slew of shows in 2017 that featured Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Billy Joel, Green Day, and Lady Gaga.

The rest of the 2018 summer concert lineup has yet to be announced, but there could be some impact from the city of Chicago’s proposal to raise the amusement tax on concert tickets to bigger venues, including Wrigley Field.

The Cubs and other area sports teams have insisted that the higher tax will impact the acts they will be able to draw, while the city says the tax will increase parity with smaller venues and raise money for various programs.
