A firefighter was hospitalized with minor injuries after he fell while batting a West Side blaze Saturday.

He was listed in good condition at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, a fire department spokesman said.

The firefighter slipped while working a fire early Saturday morning at an abandoned building on the 4500 block of West Harrison Street, said Fire Media Affairs spokesman Will Knight.

No other injuries were reported.
