Cameras Catch Woman Smiling After She Robs Bank

Fifth Third Bank branch in McKinley Park robbed Wednesday

FBI officials on Thursday were looking for the man and woman who got away with enough cash from a southwest side bank a day earlier to leave the woman with a big smile on her face as she walked away.

The pair robbed a Fifth Third Bank branch, at 1950 W. 33rd St., in McKinley Park, at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, federal agents said.

The male half of the duo was a Hispanic man between 25 and 35 years old who stood between 5 feet, 4 inches to 5 feet, 6 inches tall and had a thin build. He was wearing a black hat, black sunglasses and a black shirt.

His female partner was a white woman between 20 and 30 years old who was wearing a striped shirt, jeans and sunglasses.

Surveillance cameras captured her smiling as the pair exited the bank.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at 312-421-6700. There is a reward for information leading to the arrest of the robbers.

It was at least the 50th bank robbery in the area this year, according to the FBI. In 2012, there were 218.
