Update: For the most recent updates, see FAA.gov.

O'Hare and Midway airports were experiencing delays Thursday morning due to a computer glitch in a computer system used to file flight plans across the country.

Delays were averaging 20 minutes at O'Hare and 30 minutes at Midway, according to a spokesperson from the Chicago Department of Aviation.

Some cancellations have been reported, and airlines expect further delays throughout the morning.

Travelers are encouraged to check their airline's web site for flight statuses.
