Man, 23, Shot in Evanston

    An Evanston man was wounded in a Sunday night shooting in the north suburb.

    The 23-year-old was shot in or near Elks Park, on the the 600 block of Mulford Street, at about 8:50 p.m., according to Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott.

    The man was taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, but his condition was not immediately known.

    No one was in custody by Monday morning as Evanston police continued their investigation.
