Authorities hope surveillance video from an Evanston salon will help them catch a man who sexually assaulted a teen early Tuesday morning.
Video from Hair FX shows the 19-year-old walking westbound on Howard Street near North Washtenaw Avenue at about 6 a.m. There, a man grabbed her around the waist, dragged her across the street and assaulted her in the bushes between two vacant buildings.
She was able to get away a few minutes into the attack and flagged down a passing police officer.
"I've never seen someone running so fast," said Fred Warf of Hair FX.
A description of the attacker -- a black man with a dark complexion wearing a blue baseball cap and a black T-shirt -- was broadcast to Evanston and Chicago police but the attacker was not found.
The woman, whose purse was stolen during attack, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston and treated for minor injuries.
Anyone with information on the attack should call Evanston police at 847-866-5040.
