Nicole Scherzinger is the new champion of "Dancing With Stars."

Scherzinger, The Pussycat Dolls frontwoman, and partner Derek Hough bested Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek and his partner Anna Trebunskaya.

"It's been such a blast," Naperville's champion figure skater said.

"We are totally satisfied with everything we gave. We're so proud of Nicole and Derek. They deserve it. ... They inspired all the other couples in the competition."

Earlier in the day, Lysacek told E! that he wouldn't be disappointed if he didn't win.

"We are so excited to have gotten this far," he said Tuesday morning. "What I said coming into this competition is, regardless of what anyone says -- I did not know how to dance. My motives for doing the show were really simple and honest -- I wanted to do something fun and I wanted to dance. At this point I feel like: mission accomplished."

ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews lasted 10 weeks on the show, only to be dismissed during the show's season finale.

She and her professional partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, were eliminated from the ABC dance-off halfway through the two-hour season closer.

Tuesday's action-packed episode featured back-to-back performances by the season's finalists and past contestants.

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin danced in a bedazzled space suit that host Tom Bergeron joked was from "the NASA Liberace collection."

"The Bachelor" Jake Pavelka danced with his betrothed, Vienna Girardi. Actors Shannen Doherty and Aiden Turner also returned to the dance floor.
