An 18-year-old man secretly recorded two students who met in a Chicago-area high school bathroom for an "inappropriate activity," authorities say.
Steffon L. Pruitt, 18, was charged with unlawful recording of a person under the age of 18 in a restroom, a felony, according to Elgin police.
The Larkin High School students didn't know Pruitt was recording them, police said. One of the students later learned of the video and alleged Pruitt forwarded it to other students.
The student told officials at the school, at 1475 Larkin Ave. in Elgin, who then contacted authorities.
Pruitt, of the 500 block of Owasco Avenue in Elgin, appeared in bond court Thursday morning and was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance May 16 in St. Charles.
