Eddie Vedder's Cubs-Inspired Song Will Tug Your Heartstrings

While the tune “Go, Cubs, Go” is a song that most fans of the Chicago Cubs are familiar with, another melody by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has gotten a new lease on life ahead of Game 7 of the World Series.

The song, entitled “All the Way,” was originally written back in 2008 by Vedder as an ode to the possibility of the Cubs winning a World Series title. In an updated video, Vedder’s song is accompanied by images of Wrigley Field, Cubs fans, and legends of yesteryear in a showcase that is sure to get your heart fluttering as Game 7 approaches:

Along with footage of greats like Ron Santo and Ernie Banks, current members of the Cubs also have prominent cameos in the video. President Theo Epstein, first baseman Anthony Rizzo, and play-by-play man Len Kasper all appear in the video holding cards with Vedder’s lyrics on them.

Vedder himself did the seventh inning stretch for Game 5 of the series at Wrigley Field, and he was also in attendance as the Cubs won in Game 6 on Tuesday night to force a final game in the best-of-seven series.
