Downers Grove Police have determined that the deaths of a married couple found inside their home Friday was a double homicide.
Thomas Smith, 41, and 39-year-old Jennifer Smith suffered stab wounds that led to their deaths, according to a news release.
Police say evidence gathered at the scene shows that Thomas Smith killed his wife and then killed himself inside the home on the 6200 block of Park Avenue.
The couple's 11-year-old daughter was not home at the time of the incident.
Police say she is staying with relatives.
