After Northerly Island Concert Evacuation, Fans Still Struggled For Refunds

Since our report aired several weeks ago, at least eight more viewers have reached out to NBC 5 Responds to say concert promoter Live Nation Entertainment did not offer new tickets or a refund, after saying it would review complaints on a case by case basis. This, after fans were forced to evacuate a Don Henley concert in July at Northerly Island because of bad weather, and later learned the concert went on without them several hours later.

In our first report, Mellody and Roger Lewis told NBC 5 Responds Live Nation turned them away when they asked for help. After our call, The Lewis’ were refunded $244.

Since then, at least eight more viewers emailed NBC 5 Responds saying they too had been turned away. Once again, we asked Live Nation about its policy, but got no response. Live Nation then offered the eight customers a refund or comparable tickets. So all told, the Henley fans in our reports were reimbursed just over $2,000.
